Three Gorges power plant lays claim to biggest hydropower title

The Three Gorges power plant, the world’s largest hydropower project, has generated a total of 100 billion kilowatt-hours (kwh) of electricity in 2018.
The Hoover Dam, in the US, generates, on average, about 4 billion kilowatt-hours of hydroelectric power each year for use in Nevada, Arizona, and California – enough to serve 1.3 million people.
